The Economic Advisory Group met the Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster yesterday to update her on their analysis into the issues affecting Northern Ireland businesses accessing finance in the current economic climate.
The Group is currently finalising its recommendations before presenting its report to the Enterprise Minister next week.
EAG Chair Kate Barker stated, “The Group expects to be able to hand over the Access to Finance Report to the Minister in the coming week, and we are looking forward to sharing our finalised report with her.”
Ms Barker continued, “Our analysis is informed by a detailed survey of small and medium-sized enterprises; extensive stakeholder engagement with banks, businesses and government; and builds upon the significant work that has been conducted in this area by others.
The EAG Chair finished by stating, “Our analysis provides up-to-date evidence on this issue, specific to Northern Ireland and will allow us to make significant proposals for action to aid businesses access finance in Northern Ireland.”
